People in Bishop Auckland rediscovered little known corners of their community through a project led by Crook photographer Louise Taylor.

Pictures taken around the town are on display until Saturday, November 30, in the Bishop Auckland Discovery Centre on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 11am to 4pm.

Four of the images will be made into postcards which will be widely distributed and which are available free of charge. The project is supported by Wear Valley Arts and Northern Arts.

MISTLETOE AND WINE: St David's Church, Tudhoe, is holding a flower arranging evening based on the theme of mistletoe and wine. Mildred Stafford will take the demonstration at the church hall, on Wednesday at 7.30pm. Tickets are £4 and will include mulled wine.

CHRISTMAS FAir: Rose Street Methodist Church is holding a Christmas fair at Trimdon Grange Community Centre tomorrow from 2.30pm.

BARGAIN SALE: The village hall at Dalton-on-Tees, near Darlington, is staging a bargain sale on Saturday, November 23, at 2pm. Admission is 30p.

CHRISTMAS FAIR: Crook Corps of the Salvation Army is holding a Christmas fair at its hall in Queen Street on November 23, from 10am to noon.

ART EXHIBITION: A Christmas art exhibition will open at the Witham Hall, in Barnard Castle, from today until December 4.
