ELVIS Presley was spotted in Darlington yesterday as charity fundraisers dressed up for Children in Need.
Students from Darlington College of Technology wore their clothes inside out and collected bucketfuls of cash from town centre shoppers.
One student even dressed as Elvis as he collected on High Row.
Heighington Primary School pupils sold Pudsey Bear cookies and cakes at the Hall Garth Golf and Country Club hotel, Coatham Mundeville, and then enjoyed a teddy bear's picnic.
Also at the hotel, the keenest members of the leisure club held a triathlon competition to test their skills and fitness.
And all proceeds from last night's quiz in the hotel's Stables Pub were donated to the cause.
At Red Hall Primary School, little witches and wizards helped raise more than £100 by going to lessons dressed as Harry Potter characters.
Darlington pupil Saskia van Vlijmen raised £525 by organising a charity concert with a spooky theme to showcase local talent.
Six local bands played free-of-charge at the fundraising event - named Ghost Fest and more than 200 young people attended the show at Carmel College.
An 11-year-old Darlington boy raised more than £400 after he organised a coffee morning. Lewis Cairns organised the morning at Elmridge Methodist Church, Darlington, after writing off to Children in Need to see how he could help.
He made flyers and organised stalls for the morning, which attracted more than 100 people.
