ANOTHER of North Yorkshire's market towns could have a farmers' market in the New Year.
The town council in Easingwold has been approached by Northern Dales Farmers' Market Ltd - which already organises markets in Thirsk, Northallerton, York, Leyburn and Bedale.
Managing director Alistair Davy said he hoped councillors would approve the market, which has proven popular with shoppers wanting to buy locally made goods and support local producers.
"We have expanded rapidly throughout North Yorkshire since we started two years ago and have a strong customer base," he said.
Council chairwoman Diane Gallon said she felt the council were "quite supportive" of the idea of a farmers' market but could not make any further comment.
A decision will be made at the next meeting of the town council on Tuesday.
