A DOG and her four puppies are in need of loving homes after being given up by their Darlington owners.
Cathy, a terrier-cross, was taken in by the National Animal Sanctuary Support League when its owners said they no longer felt capable of looking after the two-year-old pet.
Pauline Wilson, of the National Animal Sanctuary Support League, said when she took Cathy to the vet for a check-up she discovered the bitch was expecting puppies. The puppies were born under the care of the National Animal Sanctuary Support League and are now old enough to be rehomed separately.
Ms Wilson said: "Cathy has had enough of the pups now.
"She is ready for them to find nice homes and she needs a good home too.
"They are lovely puppies - there are three girls and a boy - and they need new homes now."
