A RECENTLY opened equestrian store was targeted in an overnight raid by burglars.
Clothing was taken from Paxton's Equestrian Centre, in Framwellgate Moor, near Durham, in the raid.
Staff arriving for work yesterday discovered the break-in, which took place via the roof of the Front Street premises.
The raiders found their way to a store room and took an estimated £8,000 worth of property, including shoes, boots, coats and jackets.
Among the makes of shoes and boots are Mountain Horse, Dublin, Westgate and Aigle, while brands of coats and jackets taken include Mustoe and Puffa.
Detectives are appealing for information from anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the vicinity of the shop between 5pm on Thursday, and 9am yesterday.
They would also like to hear from anyone who is aware of goods of the brands listed being offered for sale in the area.
Calls can be made to Durham City CID, on 0191-386 4222, or via the Crimestoppers free-phone hotline, on (0800) 555111.
