NEW SCHOOL: Construction work is starting on a special school for 75 pupils on the former playing fields of Columbia Primary School. The school, which will provide a full range of specialist and sporting facilities, replaces Devonport and Wellbank Schools.
TEA DANCE: Organist Arthur Henderson provides music at a tea dance held from 1.30pm to 3.30pm each Tuesday, in the Biddick Arts Centre. Admission is 80p.
