Redcar Town are alive and kicking.
That's the message from the club despite speculation that they would fold after failing to field a side last Saturday. Today they visit Teesside Athletic in the North Riding County Cup.
"It has been a traumatic couple of weeks but I am pleased to say that we are still in business," enthused secretary Willie McGeogh.
"After a meeting on Wednesday Peter Grassham agreed to take over as manager, with Archie Stevens, the former Middlesbrough player, will be coach."
Redcar make the short journey to Teesside Athletic hoping to take at least 15 of their pool of 29 players.
Stokesley, too, are involved in the County Cup when they host Fishburn Park.
They expect to be at full strength as they attempt to put a disappointing performance last weekend behind them. Neil Southall, Ian Redpath and Mark Cooper are all available.
Three sides from the league will fly the flag in the Durham Challenge Cup. Wolviston meet Whickham at Metcalf Park and will make changes after an indisciplined display last Saturday which contributed to a shock defeat. Simon Colligan, John Symon and Paul Edwards are all set to resume.
Birtley Town's only doubt for the visit of Bishop Auckland is Anthony Lynch but Boldon CA manager Norman Hunter is not nearly so fortunate ahead of his side's home tie against Billingham Synthonia.
Stuart Patterson, David Graham, Graeme Nesbitt, Kevin Lloyd and Patrick James are all doubtful through injury.
In the League, Harton and Westoe will be out to maintain their improved form visiting North Shields. Lee Compton, Lee Seff and assistant manager Ronnie Thompson all come into the plans of manager David Jones.
North Shields add new signing Nicky Gray to their squad and Eddie Miller returns from injury but Paul Blakey and Robert Wake will need late fitness tests.
Ferryhill Athletic are at Annfield Plain still minus Mark Foster but manager Mark Fanning has signed Andrew Kelly who will play in the attack. The Plain name Andrew Jackman, but Gareth Slavin is still unavailable.
Darlington RA boss David Woodcock reports that Mark Hebdon, Gary Lowes, Gary Hornsby and Mark Radmore all miss the game at New Marske. Ryhope, play host to Barnard Castle Glaxo, and will choose between Stephen Udale and new signing Lee Austin for the goalkeeper's jersey.
Paul Hamilton, formerly with Nissan, will make his home debut and Neil Johnson is free from injury but Ryan McKenna is sidelined. Cleadon SC travel to Whitehaven without Kevin Hurst, Mark Pearce, Dave Watson Chris Bailey and Brian Tully but Danny Nixon is hopeful of playing.
