PENISIONER power will be out in force later this month with a rally calling for better rights for the elderly.
Cleveland Pensioners Convention Forum will be calling for a basic state pension of £100 and to restore the link with earnings, at the Grand Hotel, Hartlepool, on Tuesday, November 26.
Organised by forum secretary Mike Findley, from Marske, east Cleveland, the rally will also host guest speakers including Hartlepool's directly elected mayor Stuart Drummond and John Berry, secretary of the North-East Pensioners' Association.
Speakers will also be calling for free travel and health care for all pensioners, as well as safer streets. There will be an opportunity to ask the invited guests questions about pensioners' right.
The rally starts at 11am and should finish at about 1pm.
