A CHARITY has given out £45,000 to help improve patient care in the York area.
The charitable trust of the Leeds Hospital Fund has given £25,000 to the York Health Services NHS Trust, which runs York District Hospital.
The money will go towards providing items such as cots and retainer chairs.
The same body has granted £20,000 to York's St Leonard's Hospice.
The Tadcaster Road hospice will use the donation to buy syringe drivers, and chairs for the chapel, and patient waiting rooms.
Chairman of the trustees Richard Strudwick said: "As a Yorkshire-based charitable trust we are very keen to support the work of our local NHS trusts and hospices.
"To be able to donate £45,000 to York alone should mean that our funding can have a real impact on patient care, which is what the trust is all about."
