PLANS for a 60ft telecommunications mast alongside the old A1 at Boroughbridge have been turned down because of its impact on the Vale of York.
T-Mobile (UK) wanted to erect the structure at the former Byways filling station, along with six antennae, two transmission dishes and an equipment cabin.
Refusing the application, Harrogate Borough Council said it would be unduly harmful to the visual amenity of the surrounding vale.
