COUNCILLORS are cracking down on crime by teaming up with police for a series of evening surgeries.
There have been a number of complaints about crime and anti-social behaviour in Middridge.
Now the ward's two representatives on Sedgefield Borough, Vince Crosby and Brian Hall, have joined forces with Durham county councillor Keith Henderson and local police beat officers.
They will meet residents on Monday, December 2, at 7pm in the Greenfield Meeting Hall, Horndale, Newton Aycliffe.
Aggressive behaviour on the streets, vandalism, drinking in parks and underpasses, anti-social neighbours, abandoned cars, and litter are among the issues raised by people in the area.
Councillor Crosby said: "These types of crime hit the daily quality of life in our community, especially the elderly and most vulnerable."
