GIRLS, guns, gadgets and . . . posters. Where would the James Bond movies be without those fantastic posters advertising the exploits of the world's greatest secret agent?

To mark the 40th anniversary of the first Bond movie, a North-East museum is hosting a collection of posters from the series.

The movie posters, model cars and photographs from all 20 films, including the latest, Die Another Day, belong to 58-year-old Tony Hillman, from Darlington, who has been a Bond fan since Dr No was released in 1962.

The exhibition, at the Green Dragon Museum, in Stockton, also has sections on the Bond girls, villains and stunts from each of the films.

Mr Hillman is also piecing together trivia from the films to add to the display.

He said: "There is something for everyone. I am quite a big fan of Bond, but I am also a film fan in general.

"It is a collection which I have built up over the years and I am very proud of."

Work by Bond poster artists such as Frank McCarthy, Robert McGinnis and Jan Mascii now command large sums among fans.

The exhibition, which is free, runs until January 15. The museum is open Monday to Saturday, from 9am to 5pm.
