A man has died after being critically injured in a road accident three weeks ago.
Thomas Wake, 63, of Parkside, Seaham, is believed to have got off a bus and started crossing the B1404 Station Road, Seaham, when he was struck by a Nissan Micra.
He was taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital with head injuries and underwent emergency surgery. Mr Wake died in hospital on Saturday.
The 19-year-old driver of the Nissan, which was travelling south east on the road when the accident happened, escaped unhurt.
Specialists from Durham Constabulary's accident investigation unit are renewing their appeal for information on the incident, which occurred at about 10.20pm on October 30.
