THREE local authorities have received certificates marking their contributions to a record-breaking race.
This year's 20th anniversary Bupa Great North Run will appear in the 2003 edition of the Guinness Book of Records, after 36,822 runners completed the race.
Organiser Brendan Foster presented framed certificates to Newcastle City Council, and Gateshead and South Tyneside borough councils, in recognition of their support
