MORE than 100 pupils learned valuable outdoor skills during a five-day course.
The youngsters, from New College Durham, took part in an Outward Bound Trust course at Outward Bound, in Ullswater.
They learned skills as diverse as raft-building, climbing, and how to use a trapeze.
Daniel Appleby, 16, from Oxhill, said: "I thought the climbing was great.
"I found out that I was quite good at it and it gave me a sense of achievement.
"It's something I'd like to take up later."
To mark its recent 60th anniversary, the Outward Bound Trust has created a roll of honour for course participants and instructors.
Its main aim is to keep those who have passed through the centre up to date through a newsletter, and help raise funds for future participants.
