FERRYHILL Town Band will be playing with guest celebrity bass player Joe Cook of the Black Dyke Band next week.
Mr Cook, who is originally from Boldon, has been a member of the renowned Black Dyke Band for two years and is an international soloist appearing in venues all round Europe.
The Ferryhill band concert is at 7.30pm on Friday next week at Elvet Church, Durham. Tickets are £5 and £4 and are available from (01388) 818858 and (01740) 655704 or contact the Ferryhill Town Band website at www.f-t-b. fsnet.co.uk.
The band is looking for new players, especially front row cornet players, to strengthen its line-up for next year's busy contest schedule. If any brass players are interested they can call Steve King in confidence on (01740) 656451.
