HOSPITAL staff yesterday took delivery of a potentially life-saving piece of equipment.
The bicycle ergometer with integral blood pressure monitor was presented to the Friarage Hospital in Northallerton by the British Heart Foundation.
The large piece of equipment is expected to be of great diagnostic value to the medical staff at the hospital and was made possible by a bequest to the charity from the late Mary Fattorini from Wensleydale.
It was presented to Dr Upendra Somasundrum of the cardiology department by Lady Kitson, a relative of Miss Fattorini, and the chairman of the Wensleydale branch of the BHF, Jane Scrope.
