THESE schoolchildren took part in one of many charity events held in the area to raise money for this year's Children in Need appeal.
Nine girls from St Anne's CE Primary School, Bishop Auckland, raised more than £150 for the charity by swimming 35 lengths - that's half a mile - of the town swimming baths.
This is the second year running that the friends - Rebecca Ramsey, Rebecca Greathead, Rebecca Jones, Rebecca Miller, Laura Coxon, Nicola West, Charlotte Purdham, Fiona Harrison, and Lucy Storey have completed the sponsored challenge.
The school also held a 'yellow day' for the charity for which staff and pupils dressed in yellow and had their faces painted.
Headteacher Henry Jopling said: "The whole school did well and have so far raised about £300, the girls threw themselves into the sponsored swim because it is something we always try to instil."
