A TOP-CLASS sporting event is being held at the weekend.
Darlington Boxing and Martial Arts Academy is staging one of its biggest events, pitting English and Thai kick-boxers against each other at the Dolphin Centre on Sunday. A crowd of about 1,000 is expected to see three inter-continental world title fights.
In action will be four times British champion Craig Shaw, six times champion Paul Spinks and European No 1 Kurt Forrest.
Darlington police officer Neil Walton is also fighting for a British title against Richard Weston, of Leeds. The bouts will be filmed by Sky Sports and only about 200 tickets are left. The event starts at 4pm. Anyone interested should contact organiser Paul Hamilton on (01325) 369655.
