A CAT shelter is trying to find people willing to take on the responsibility for two animals with very distinctive personalities.
Maria Harrison, from The Willows cat shelter, in East Boldon has had difficulty rehoming some of her cats and is looking for people who can tolerate their foibles.
One of them, Sherman, a six-month-old cat named after the tank he is said to emulate, is too energetic for a lot of potential owners.
Maria said: "Sherman is named after a tank because he's like a demolition machine. He's absolutely stone mad and very athletic and needs someone who is going to have room for him, or maybe has another athletic cat to play with."
Maria is also trying to find a home for Bachelor, a cat who has a permanent eye infection. He is nervous around other cats and needs constant attention.
If you can help, call the shelter on 0191-5366221.
