THE work of a North-East television producer could be heading to the top of the pop charts this Christmas.
Six years ago, Annette Bartholomew directed a video of Irish singer Enya performing a Gaelic version of Silent Night for the BBC.
The singer, formerly with Clannad, rarely appears on television but agreed to do the performance, which was screened on Christmas Day.
Now the video, filmed in Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin, is included as a CD-rom in a box set, Only Time, featuring Enya's career since 1988.
Miss Bartholomew, 35, from Hartlepool, is now senior network producer for BBC news at Newcastle.
She is delighted that her video is included in the collection, which has already hit the charts.
"I'm really quite surprised and shocked to find some work I did a few years back is in the charts and could be a mega-hit.
"I first met Enya when I was a cub radio reporter in the Channel Islands and interviewed her when she was starting out.
"I kept in touch with her and her family and I asked her to do the Silent Night video as a favour and she agreed.''
Miss Bartholomew began her career in newspapers. She worked for The Northern Echo in 1991 before moving into radio and television.
