A MAN who supplied his girlfriend with drugs on the eve of her death has denied a charge of manslaughter.
Christopher Kenning, 22, admitted supplying heroin to Karen Harland on her 19th birthday in April, at Durham Crown Court yesterday.
But he pleaded not guilty to a charge of manslaughter.
The case was adjourned for trial.
Ms Harland, of Park Road, Chester-le-Street, worked for Northern Electric and Gas until shortly before her death.
A second man, 25-year-old Ian Craig Douglass, appeared in court yesterday accused of supplying heroin to Mr Kenning, also between April 11 and 14.
Mr Douglass, of West Street, Grange Villa, near Chester-le-Street, denied the charge and his case was also adjourned.
Both were granted bail.
