GUITAR enthusiasts are promised a treat next weekend by organisers of an event featuring music from Spain and South America.
Paul Croft (below) performs works from the sixteenth to twentieth centuries at the Witham Hall in Barnard Castle on Saturday, November 30, at 7.30.
In a varied and eclectic musical career, Croft has made more than 3,000 appearances throughout the UK. In 1990, he visited Moscow and St Petersburg, conducting the Northumberland Schools' Guitar Ensemble which also performed for Prince Edward at the MetroCentre in Gateshead.
He co-ordinated and directed the Northumberland International Guitar Festival, bringing many of the world's finest guitarists to the North-East. He now concentrates on the solo guitar repertoire, as performer and teacher, and is guitar tutor for Cumbria Music Service.
The concert is in aid of the development fund at the Witham Hall.
Tickets are £5 from the Witham office from 10am-noon weekdays or by telephoning 01833 631107 or 690665.
