Mr Don Robson, president, presented the championship trophies when the Fosters ECB North East Regional Premier League held the annual awards ceremony at the Ramside Hall Hotel, Durham City.
The first division championship was won by Benwell Hill while Gateshead Fell carried off the second division title and Norton the third division championship.
David Martin, company secretary of the Banks Group, presented the Banks salver to Chester le Street who won the first division competition. The Banks Bole went to Newcastle and the Banks Cup to Stockton.
Bill Midgley, chairman of Durham County Cricket Club, made the Player of the Year awards as follows.0ohn Graham, South Northumberland was the Division One player of the year with 799 runs and an average of 44.4. His highest score was 103 and he took ten catches.
Gateshead Fell's Mark Smith clinched the second division Player of the Year award with 488 runs at 44.4. His highest score was 102 not out and in addition he claimed 38 wickets at a cost of 9.95 runs a piece. In a game against Sunderland, he captured five wickets without conceding a run.
In the third division, Chester le Street's Adam Nairn was judged to be the top player. He compiled 277 runs averaging 69.3.
The Junior Awards were presented by Bill Peacock, Vice President of the League. Norton won the Under-11 and Under-15 divisions and South Northumberland carried off the Under-13 championship. Mr Peacock also presented the Norton Captain Kenny Gresham with the KV Computer Services trophy which the league had won. Gresham also captained the League 11.
