The final week of the season produced the biggest shock of the year when bottom placed Aycliffe B beat Crook B 8-6. This allowed Shildon to clinch second place and qualify for the national inter league finals along with Horden. This was not the end of Crook's misery as Durham B beat their hosts Aycliffe A 10-4 to draw level in third place and force a play off for the £100 prize. The play off will take place at the Greyhound Kirk Merrington on Sunday, November 24. Horden continued their dominance to the end with an 11-3 win over the visiting Ferryhill. Consett beat the visiting Bishop Auckland 9-5.
The player of the year award will go to a nine frame play off at Crook Belle Vue after John Bourne of Horden won only one of his games which allowed Dave Bromley of Aycliffe A to level when he won both of his against Durham B. Both players won 30 games.
The singles knockout will take place at the Daisy Hill Sacriston on December 8, players must register by 12.15pm for a 12.30pm start. The entry fee is £2 with £100 guaranteed to the winner. This is open to registered players of the Durham super league and county only.
