Tow Law Cup
Esh Stag's Head will meet Tow Law New Market A in the final after two very different semi-finals. The visiting Stanley Earl Derby took the Stag's to the decider, whilst the New Market A coasted through against their B team.
Stanley Earl Derby had darts singles points from Les Saunders senior and junior, Wayne Anderson and Gary Cutler with Tom March and Jackie Hodgson replying. The Derby extended their lead by taking two of the three doubles. Meanwhile, however, the Stag's were dominating the dominoes with singles wins from Dave Metcalfe, Tom March, Ronnie Brown, Malcolm Whightman and Jackie Hodgson before David Lacy took the last one for the Derby, who managed to recover and force the draw by taking the last two doubles.
The teams spun a coin to decide the final game with the Stag's winning and naming dominoes. The Stag's edged to their narrow victory when Ronnie Brown beat Les Saunders junior.
In the other match the New Market A dominated the darts, although Tom Hauxwell pulled off a remarkable feat when he beat Kenneth Atkinson in the first singles. However that was the only darts point for the B team, who also lost the dominoes by the odd point.
Willington Ladies League
Hunwick Joiners Arms lost only their third match of the season in the dominoes section, but it was to their second placed hosts at Willington Club B and allowed their rivals to close the gap at the top to five points. Willington Market whitewashed the visiting Willington Cottles to move up to share third place with Willington Burn, three points adrift of the Club B team.
Willington Club B continue to dominate the darts section and moved thirteen points clear after beating the visiting Hunwick Joiners Arms by three points. In the battle for second place Willington Club A beat their hosts at Sunnybrow Brown Trout to move two points ahead.
Results: Willington Market 5 (5) Willington Cottles 4 (0); Sunnybrow Brown Trout 4 (4) Willington Club A 5 (1); Willington Burn 6 (2) Willington Black Horse A 3 (3); Willington Club B 6 (3) Hunwick Joiners Arms 3 (2). Willington Black Horse B v Willington Lion and Unicorn postponed.
Bishop Auckland & District CIU Winter
West Auckland darts team whitewashed the visiting Eldon Lane to move two points clear at the top of the table, although Cockton Hill and Tindale Crescent have the score from their match to add as the scorecard failed to reach the secretary in time. West's darts marksmen were R. Douthwaite, C. Kitch, J. Roe and C. Bland.
Evenwood darts team continued their good run when they visited Horndale and only dropped one point. The Evenwood team of M. Holmes, M. Townsend, T. Hicks and S. Dowson are hoping to maintain their success.
Horndale dominoes squad of B. Hall, D. Hodgson, J. Ripley and C Musgrave improved their table standing when they only dropped one point to the visiting Evenwood.
Eldon Lane's whist player never dropped a point on their visit to West Auckland with wins for J. Bell, R. Race, R. Thompson and A. Race.

Tow Law Coors Cup
Tow Law Rose and Crown maintained their good start to the competition in League A when they visited Tow Law New Market A and won by three points. The visitors took pool singles points through Chris Bowes, Adam Orton, Steven Todd and Lee Mowbray, whilst Bill Goodall and Stephen English replied. The Rose and Crown had dominoes wins from Steven Todd, Anthony Ward and Chris Bowes, whilst Dale Duxfield and Bill Goodall replied. The home side took the captain's game but only managed one of the three pool doubles.
Esh Football Club have made an even better start in League B for they maintained their unbeaten record when they visited Hamilton Row Black Horse and only dropped three points, which the home side took in the pool singles when Chris Ellis, Mike Kennedy and John Thorburn won. The footballers replied in the pool singles with wins from Dave Bellamy, John Robinson and Colin Neil and then went on to take all three pool doubles, all five dominoes singles and completed a great result by taking the dominoes captain's game.
