YOUNG riders at a Cleveland equestrian centre are seeking a traditional pantomime-horse costume for their Christmas show. They hope village drama societies can come to the rescue.
The Unicorn Centre, at Hemlington, offers riding activities for disabled people. Riders and volunteers on 19 horses and ponies will star in Robin Hood and His Jolly Jumpers on January 3.
Like all good pantos, the show has a pantomime dame. And two German visitors are performing the role of the dame's sidekick - her horse. However, they need a costume.
Spokeswoman Claire Pitt said: "If we can find a costume, we will take very good care of it. If we can't, then our volunteers will make one if they find a pattern."
They hope the horse could also appear in next year's Great North Run, to raise money for the equestrian centre.
