A heart transplant recipient helped others awaiting treatment by holding a fund raising fair.
Stuart Watt, 56, who had a heart transplant seven years ago, has since devoted himself to showing his gratitude for his life and the chance to see his two sons grow up.
Following his operation at Newcastle's Freeman Hospital in March 1995, he has raised more than £10,000 for the hospital and the British Heart Foundation.
His latest venture was holding a fair and sale at the newly refurbished Shadforth Village Hall, near Durham City, in aid of the British Heart Foundation's Have a Heart campaign.
The event, which included plant stalls, a tombola, crafts and a raffle, with prizes donated by local firms, raised £635.
Mr Watt said: "A special thanks to family, friends, local businesses and the people of Shadforth for their kindness and generosity, and to those who gave up their time to make the day so successful."
