VOLUNTEERS have been raising money to improve fire safety.
Members of the Darlington branch of the Prince's Trust set up a stall at the town's outdoor market at the weekend, to raise money for smoke alarms for homes on Red Hall estate. The volunteers have carried out a survey to find out how many houses are fitted with alarms.
A community fire safety inspector from Darlington will buy the smoke alarms with the money raised and fit them in people's homes.
