A STROKE club's plea for volunteers to help it stave off closure have been answered.
Three women have offered their aid at the weekly meetings of Durham Stroke Club, which was suffering from a lack of helpers.
Helper Margaret Parker said: "The three helpers will make a difference and they have cars. It has taken the pressure off a bit.''
The group meets at the Pity Me Community Centre, Durham. Anyone else interested in helping out is asked to call 0191-386 5858.
