A DURHAM pet store has been praised for raising more than £2,000 for charity.
Shop chain Pets at Home set its 144 stores nationwide the task of raising money for Dogs for the Disabled.
Altogether, the chain raised £124,000, with the Durham store at the Arnison shopping centre raising more than any other.
As a result, deputy store manager Janet Hodgson was invited to visit the training centre in Banbury, Oxfordshire, where dogs learn to help people with disabilities by carrying out everyday tasks.
