THE final stage of a library makeover gets under way this weekend.
Consett Library closes its doors at 4pm on Saturday, until Monday, December 2, while it is painted inside and out.
Kay Winter, group manager at Consett, said: "We are expecting to be really busy when we re-open, as everyone comes to see the new look.
"We've bought £5,000 worth of new books especially for the opening and have recently installed extra computers, so that library members can have free access to the internet, word processing and desk top publishing.
"Obviously, we regret any inconvenience caused by having to close, but we are making every effort to minimise the disruption."
Members can still renew loans by contacting Lanchester Library on (01207) 521021 or renew on-line at www.durham.gov.uk
