A COLLEGE is to receive a national award for using technology to help teachers keep track of homework.
Walker Technology College in Newcastle will today be presented with the Microsoft Award by BBC radio journalist John Humphrys, in recognition of its use of technology to create an interactive teacher planner.
The award is to be presented at the Technology Colleges Trust's national conference, which runs this week.
Assistant head at the college Mike Collier said the computer system allows teachers to keep records of everything from attendance to homework received and achievement awards.
The system proved so useful, Walker Technology College copied it on to a CD-Rom and gave it to other colleges in the area.
Now, the organisation has been asked to showcase the new software at the North-West regional teachers' conference.
