A university has launched an equal opportunities policy.
The initiative was formally unveiled at the University of Teesside, Middlesbrough, yesterday, and there will be information stands, workshops and events on equality and diversity to mark the milestone at the university throughout the week.
Lee Graham, equality and diversity officer at the university, said: "Our work in widening participation to higher education study is well recognised and these events support an ongoing campaign. The Tees Valley includes a wonderfully diverse mix of people and we want the University of Teesside to fully reflect and benefit from this great cultural asset."
