KEEN runners are being asked to take part in a winter challenge for charity.
Breathe North, part of the British Lung Foundation, is asking people to take part in the Great Winter Run, at Newcastle's Town Moor and Exhibition Park.
The event, on January 4, is a four-mile run for people of all abilities and there is also a 2km run for juniors.
A charity spokesman said: "You will help to raise vital funds to support people in the North-East, who don't have enough breath to walk 40ft, let alone four miles."
Entry forms and T-shirts are available from the charity by calling 0191-263 0276. The closing dates for entries is December 13.
