A company has helped to bring a school's robot to life.
Aycliffe Fabrication created the aluminium and stainless steel body for Maximus - a robot made by pupils and staff at St. John's RC Comprehensive School, in Bishop Auckland.
Maximus will soon be seen on BBC2's Robot Wars, fighting against challengers and the programme's house robots.
The school team is also working on Decimus, an improved version of the robot.
Dave Spensely, of Aycliffe Fabrications, said: "This is one of the more unusual projects we have been involved in but it was a pleasure to help."
