PUPILS are helping their under-privileged counterparts in eastern Europe by providing Christmas aid packages.
The children from Whinfield Junior School, in Darlington, packed more than 120 shoe boxes full of presents to eastern Europe by the Samaritans' Purse charity.
It is the third year that the school has taken part in the charity scheme. Pupils also received support from church and community leaders. A collection of silver coins also raised £30 towards transport costs.
The school has been involved in several charity activities, including raising £320 for BBC TV's Children in Need.
