DOREEN Yeates opened the November meeting by introducing M Martin and her husband. They had come along at short notice as the booked speaker had been forced to cancel due to illness. They brought along 'gifts for all occasions,' which members enjoyed browsing through It also solved some Christmas present problems.
Doreen welcomed six visitors to the meeting. Sick members were wished a speedy recovery.
Dorothy Lowery read the minutes and Joyce Gordon read the treasurer's report. Future events and outings were discussed.
The door prize was won by Anne Lambert. The musical box competition was won by W Watson with F McKeag and A Blenkiron runners up.
Joyce Yates from Billington, was a speaker at the second meeting in November. Members laughed at her talk, which was given with much humour.
The events planned for December were outlined and there are going to be some good times during the run up to Christmas.
