Darlington Church and Friendly League
Once again the weather took its toll leaving the League with only four fixtures, three of which were at Hundens Park the other at Abbey Road where Darlington GSOB entertained Shildon Elm Road WMC.
On a heavy pitch it was an evenly contested first half which ended one apiece, Darryl Meadows for Elm Road and Mally Leafe for Old Boys who could of gone ahead but Ian McMahon saved the spot kick, in the second the visitors adjusted to the conditions better and added a further four without reply through Chris Ross Richard Nash and a brace for Thomas Loudon.
Darlington The Mowden dominated the first half on their visit to Darlington Skerne Park to take a six -one interval lead, although they appeared to ease a little on the turn round the Skerne Park boys restricted them to only a single goal whilst adding they added one to their first half strike, Shaun Lodge scored both Parks goals with Ritchie Dodsworth four and Steve Thompson three being on target for Mowden.
Darlington Travellers Rest came out best by four goals to two against Chilton Wheatsheaf Wanderers in a closely fought encounter where both keepers had outstanding games, for Travellers Max Ripley hit a pair with one apiece for Mattie Cole and Ryan Sandick, Dave Tate grabbed both the Wheatsheaf goals
In the remaining game Darlington AFC Greyhound came from 2-0 down at half time to take the points 5-2 with a much better second half display against Bishopton Hoppers Transport, Mike Bainbridge and Graeme Stamper both grabbed a couple with the odd one going to Paul Prince.
