Communities from across Yorkshire and the Humber gather in York on Monday to celebrate the creation of 30 millennium greens.
The Countryside Agency worked together with local organisations to create small but lasting memorials to the new millennium, using a £10m grant from the National Lottery. A total of 245 greens were created nationally, including projects in Thirsk, Harrogate, Ampleforth and Pateley Bridge in North Yorkshire. Monday's celebrations are at York's St William's College.
