Sarah ROBINSON has become the first person to graduate from the University of Teesside's media studies degree with first-class honours.
Last week, as she received her certificate, she met former England physiotherapist Alan Smith, who helped get David Beckham fully fit for the World Cup.
"I think my dad was more proud of me for having a picture taken with Alan Smith than he was for getting my degree," said Sarah, 22, of Brotton, Saltburn.
"But I really enjoyed it all, especially graduating, although it was nice to meet him."
Sarah is now about to start a PhD in music journalism and hopes to work as a writer for the music Press.
