A post box installed in a Teesside pub is delivering surprises of its own.
The 4ft box at the Wacky Warehouse, in Coulby Newham, Middlesbrough, shouts out a Christmas message every time someone drops in a letter.
Replies to present wish-lists posted by children will be pinned up by pub staff.
Pub manager David Smith said: "We think Spiderman and Harry Potter toys are going to be near the top of most children's wish-lists this year.''
The talking post box will switch jobs in the New Year, when it becomes a Christmas card recycling point, helping children to do their bit for the environment.
