SHOPPERS will be serenaded when a town centre launches Sunday opening this weekend.
The Weardale Cloggers and Whackers will entertain the crowds when they walk down Newgate Street, Bishop Auckland, on Sunday with their traditional music and dance.
Hillbilly, folk and country is the theme when three-piece Bluegrass Band liven up the Newgate Centre.
Shops will be open from 10am to 4pm, although individual stores may have different times.
Town centre manager Ken Wilson said: "The Bluegrass Band and The Cloggers and Whackers should ensure entertainment for all tastes as shoppers go about the serious business of Christmas shopping."
