Darlington Operatic Society has earned a certificate of thanks from the town's St Teresa's Hospice after raising £9,065 in 12 months.
Some of the money has been used to support further fundraising, allowing the hospice to add £10,000 from a ball, at which operatic society members also helped.
The hospice is planning a Christmas concert on December 21, at 7pm, at Darlington's Dolphin Centre.
Tees Valley Youth Choir will feature, with town choirs and Great Ayton harpist Anita Aslin.
Hospice director Jane Bradshaw said: "The society adopted us several years ago as a main charity and has been very generous."
The hospice needs to raise £525,000 of its £700,000 running costs each year and will need a further £250,000 from Easter next year, when it opens a six-bed in-patient unit.
