BUDDING North-East pilots are being offered a fast-track sponsorship scheme to get them into the right hand seat of a Boeing or Airbus plane.
Charter airline JMC has entered into a partnership with CTC McAlpine to launch the pilot cadet sponsorship scheme.
It will cover basic, intermediate and advanced training to take pilots to the point where they are ready to join JMC as flight crew.
JMC's director of flight operations, Captain Donal Foley, said: "There are around 14,000 qualified commercial pilots operating in the UK at present.
"Within the next few years, a substantial number of these will retire during a period of anticipated industry growth.
"Our association with the cadet sponsorship scheme will secure future entrants to the right hand seat of JMC aircraft."
