IN the 1780s, the beauty of one girl inspired the famous song, Sweet Lass of Richmond Hill.
Now, more than 200 years later, another girl from the North Yorkshire town of Richmond, Tanya Robinson, hopes her good looks will see her voted the UK's Number One High Street Honey.
The 21-year-old lives also on a hill, a stone's throw from the one-time home of Francis I'Anson, of whom a distracted admirer - later to become her husband - penned Sweet Lass of Richmond Hill and the line "whose charms all other maids surpass, a rose without a thorn".
Tanya, the reigning Miss Blackpool, has so far beaten more than 6,000 hopefuls to reach the final round of FHM magazine's High Street Honeys cover girl competition.
She and nine other finalists will appear in a one-hour interactive show on Sky One, on Friday, when viewers will be able to vote for the winner.
The chosen girl will be given a £10,000 cheque and will become the March issue cover girl.
The winner will also be flown to Miami early next year to represent FHM UK in the global FHM Bikini Heaven competition.
Tanya's boyfriend, Andrew Fay, 24, manager of Richmond sports centre, put Tanya's name forward for the competition.
Now, her parents Steve, 43, and Julie, 41, and younger sister, Sherrie, 19, are all keeping their fingers crossed.
"I have been very lucky, but it's all down to phone votes now. I need as many votes as I can get," said Tanya, adding that winning the contest would be a big step towards her goal of becoming a model.
"If I won, it would be my dream come true," she said.
