TIME is running out to buy a ticket for one of the region's charity events of the year.
Three cancer charities are hoping to fill Durham Cathedral for a joint fundraising evening.
Broadcasters Sue McGregor and Martyn Lewis will choose some of their favourite Christmas-themed readings, and the cathedral will be filled with the sounds of Durham University Choral Society, Durham Cathedral Choristers and Durham Constabulary Male Voice Choir.
Proceeds from an Evening of Music and Readings in Durham Cathedral will help Marie Curie Cancer Care, St Cuthbert's Hospice and Mac-millan Cancer Relief's County Durham appeal.
Macmillan is trying to raise £600,000 to improve support for terminally ill cancer patients in County Durham.
The event takes place on Friday, at 7.30pm. Tickets are priced at £12.00 and £8.00 (limited view) and can be booked either by completing the application form in today's Northern Echo, or phoning the ticket hotline, on 0191-386 1170.
All applications must include a stamped addressed envelope (SAE).
