GREEN-fingered residents gather this weekend to plant more than 30,000 bulbs to make sure their park is a riot of colour next spring.
DerwentsideDistrict Council holds its Bountiful Bulbs, Beautiful Blooms planting event in Consett Park on Saturday, from 10am-1pm, meeting at the Park Lodge.
The team will be bedding down the future snowdrops, daffodils and bluebells. Anyone taking part should wear suitable clothing. Admission is free and equipment will be provided.
The council's heritage park development officer, Maria McArdle, is also looking to recruit new members to the Friends of Consett Park.
The group meets once a month in Consett Civic Centre, to discuss new ideas to improve community use of the park.
Anyone interested should contact the council on (01207) 218000.
