LIGHT-FOOTED teenager Faye Dawson is proving she is a force to be reckoned with in the competitive world of Latin dancing.
The 15-year-old, from Skelton, near York, has been winning awards for her dancing since she was seven, but even she was surprised to win three major competitions in a year.
Faye, who has dancing lessons at Melodies, in York, won the national Latin dance competition in the 12 to 15 age group in January.
She went on to win the North-West regional competition - and now she has completed the triple by winning the North-East Latin finals, accompanied by her dancing partner Paul Hopwood.
Her dance teacher, Jean Harvey, said she was very proud of Faye's achievements.
"She works very hard and is very dedicated. She is a born dancer and is just obsessed with Latin dancing, I think that is the secret behind her success," she said.
