A public inquiry into Darlington Borough Council's decision to refuse permission for a betting shop has been cancelled.

Bookmaker William Hill will instead proceed with an appeal against the decision, relating to a retail outlet at 57-58 Skinnergate, by written representation.

BAND FUNDRAISER: The Willington Monarchs Jazz Band is holding a Christmas fair in Collier House, Sunnybrow, on Saturday, from noon to 3pm.
